The ITI Technician is responsible for performing a variety of technical tasks and providing support in various fields such as electrical, mechanical, automotive, welding, machining, or other specialized areas. The ideal candidate will have completed vocational training at an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) and possess the skills and knowledge necessary to perform technical duties effectively.

Responsibilities:

  1. Technical Maintenance and Repair:

    • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks on equipment, machinery, or systems according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
    • Diagnose technical issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions to minimize downtime and ensure optimal functionality.
  2. Installation and Assembly:

    • Assist in the installation, assembly, and setup of equipment, components, or systems, following technical specifications, blueprints, or schematics.
    • Ensure proper alignment, calibration, and configuration of machinery or systems to meet performance standards and requirements.
  3. Quality Control and Inspection:

    • Conduct quality control inspections and tests to verify product quality, functionality, and compliance with specifications and standards.
    • Document inspection results, deviations, and non-conformities, and recommend corrective actions or adjustments as necessary.
  4. Safety Compliance:

    • Adhere to safety protocols, procedures, and regulations to prevent accidents, injuries, and hazards in the workplace.
    • Identify potential safety risks or hazards and take proactive measures to mitigate or eliminate them to maintain a safe working environment.
  5. Inventory Management:

    • Maintain inventory levels of tools, parts, and supplies, and requisition materials as needed to support maintenance and repair activities.
    • Keep accurate records of inventory transactions, stock levels, and usage to ensure availability and efficiency.
  6. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Complete maintenance logs, work orders, and service reports to document work performed, parts used, and time spent on tasks.
    • Provide regular updates, status reports, and feedback to supervisors or team leaders on work progress and issues encountered.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Completion of vocational training or certification from an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in a relevant trade or specialization (e.g., electrical, mechanical, automotive, welding, machining).
  • 1-2 years of experience in technical maintenance, repair, or assembly work, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools, measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or electronic systems, components, and principles.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
