Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain financial records, including but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
Monitor and reconcile petty cash transactions and expense reports.
Review and process vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely payment.
Prepare and submit government filings, such as sales tax returns and payroll taxes.
Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process, providing insights and recommendations based on financial analysis.
Collaborate with internal teams to resolve accounting discrepancies and answer financial-related inquiries.
Maintain compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and best practices, ensuring adherence to relevant standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
CPA certification or progress toward CPA qualification is preferred.
Proven experience as an accountant or similar role, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in accounting software and tools, such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle.
Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to create and manipulate spreadsheets and perform complex calculations.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret financial data accurately.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
